The first ADMI campus was established in Nairobi through a partnership with the Jamhuri Film and Television Academy (JFTA).

In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, Mukui Mbidyo, the Head of Growth at ADMI, said that the institution’s training stands out for its strong emphasis on practical, hands-on skills while fostering creative innovation.
“The curriculum is designed to mirror real-world industry demands, blending technical proficiency with creative problem-solving. State-of-the-art facilities and industry-standard software allow students to work on real projects, ensuring they gain relevant, market-ready skills,” Mbidyo said.
She further explained that ADMI offers robust mentorship and support through its partnerships with industry experts and professionals who guide students during their training.
“Students are mentored by both faculty and external professionals, offering insights into the realities of the media and creative industries. ADMI has strong ties with companies in film, TV, animation, and digital content, facilitating internship placements to help students gain hands-on experience. This integration of mentorship and internships ensures students build valuable networks and receive personalised guidance for their career growth,” Mbidyo explained.
Incorporating AI in student’s training
Notably, the institution is also training students to integrate AI into their creative work, recognising the benefits that recent developments in AI have brought to the relevant industries.
“This approach ensures students can fully harness AI’s potential in media production. In addition to AI, ADMI is incorporating emerging fields such as gaming and extended reality (AR/VR) into its curriculum. These technologies are shaping the future of media and entertainment, and ADMI prepares students by equipping them with both the creative and technical skills needed to excel in these cutting-edge areas, keeping them competitive in a rapidly evolving industry,” Mbidyo noted.
Currently the institution offers 17 programmes at certificate and diploma level.
