Uzbekistan launches program for issuing carbon certificates – International Business Council
AKIPRESS.COM – Uzbekistan has launched a program for issuing carbon certificates, the International Business Council reported.
Events dedicated to the global Peace Day are being held in Bishkek and Osh on September 21. It was reported during the events that the supply of green technologies is now exempt from some taxes and duties, and companies that independently process waste are exempt from the recycling fee.
A program for issuing carbon certificates has been launched and the ESG standards have been introduced at large state-owned enterprises in Uzbekistan due to the recommendations made, the IBC reported.
Carbon markets are trading systems in which carbon quotas are bought and sold. Companies or individuals can use carbon markets to offset their greenhouse gas emissions by buying carbon credits from businesses that remove or reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
One carbon credit is equal to one ton of carbon dioxide or another greenhouse gas.
