Three New Jersey Jersey residents were arrested Wednesday on charges they stole more than $100,000 in checks from the mailboxes of businesses in Wall, officials said.
The trio were arrested after search warrants were served on their homes with investigators seizing a 2024 BMW 5X, more than $10,000 in cash, about 13 pounds of marijuana, forgery devices, stolen checks, blank checks and several electronic devices, according to Wall police.
James Miller, 37, of Passaic, is charged with theft, 14 counts of forgery, possession of government documents, uttering a fraudulent document, possession of forgery devices and receiving stolen property.
Bloomfield residents Kaleik Easton, 29, and Asia Harrell, 31, are charged with receiving stolen property, possession of more than five pounds of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of forgery devices.
All three are being held at the Monmouth County jail. Attorney information wasn’t immediately available.
The arrests followed an investigation that spanned several months. State Police and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service assisted Wall police.
