TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Toledo Police still don’t know who punched the window of a downtown business and walked away.
The bizarre incident was all caught on camera.
Security footage shows a man in a blue shirt and shorts walking down Tenth Street in downtown Toledo on Aug. 3, when he smashes the window of a business and continues on his way.
That business, Simple Beauty Salon and Spa. The owner, Ashley Reil.
“This is my second year into business, my insurance rates are going to go up because I’m not a big company,” Reil said. “It’s taken over a month to get everything settled, to get the correct footage that I need, to get into my insurance,” Reil said.
Luckily, Reil said her window was finally being replaced on Tuesday.
But, she wants her customers to know that her business is still a safe place to be, despite the boarded-up exterior they may have observed over the last month.
According to the Toledo Police report, nothing appeared to be missing from the business, nor could any object be located that could be used to break the window.
Toledo Police also added that this incident doesn’t seem to be in connection with other crimes. There have been no reports of similar incidents at surrounding businesses.
13 Action News spoke with a security guard who said they regularly patrol the area. They said that there is a flow of people walking even sitting around the area on a daily basis, from the surrounding businesses.
