A fire has broken out at a laundry business in Tavistock. Three fire engines were initially sent to the first-floor laundry business after smoke was seen coming from the roof, with a report being logged at 6.36am.
A representative for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “Three fire engines were sent to an industrial property, where there was a report of smoke seen in the roof area. On arrival crews confirmed that there was a fire within a laundry business on the 1st floor of this building and it was well alight.”
Soon, more engines were sent: “Further assistance was requested, so another two Fire engines (5 in total) was sent, as well as an Aerial Ladder Platform and Command Support Unit.”
Two breathing apparatuses, one hose reel jet, one main jet, and three thermal image cameras are being used. The fire is currently ongoing and we will be posting updates as they come in.
