Motive, which operates as graphic design and signage experts Motive Graphics and custom exhibition stand specialists Motive Exhibitions, has said it is happy to support grass roots football.
Last season, Motive sponsored the playing kit for Eaton Socon Ladies – known as the Eaton Eagles – in one of their most successful seasons, which saw them compete in their first-ever FA County Cup final.
Now, the business has been selected as the official stadium sponsor of Eaton Socon FC, with the club’s ground being renamed ‘The Motive Arena’.
Motive’s financial support will be spread across the club’s nine teams, including three senior men’s teams, the ladies’ team, a veterans’ team, and four youth teams, and will aid the club’s continued growth and development of its squads.
Commenting on the extension of support from being the ladies’ playing kit sponsor to the official club stadium sponsor, David Hennessy, Motive director, said: “I’m a local lad and grew up in the St Neots area – as did a fair few of our employees.
“I – and the whole Motive team – love getting involved with our local community, so it made perfect sense for us to extend our commitment to this fantastic local club by sponsoring the whole stadium.
“As a group of sports lovers, we enjoyed watching the Eaton Eagles team improve last year – and now we can’t wait to see what this season brings for the club as a whole.
“This will help the football club as well as the local community, enabling more players to achieve their goals and raising awareness of the club in Cambridgeshire and beyond.”
Neville Cooper, chairman at Eaton Socon FC, said: “It was fantastic to have Motive sponsoring our ladies’ football team, Eaton Eagles, last year. They went beyond just adding their name to the front of the shirts – their staff attended club events and matches to cheer our team on.
