Prachuap Khiri Khan is set to host the “Let’s Go Prachuap…Invite to Travel” event, aimed at stimulating the local economy and promoting tourism across the province’s eight districts during the green season.
The event, which will take place from 4 to 6 October 2024 at the Market Village Shopping Centre in Hua Hin, was officially announced during a press conference on 24 September 2024.
The press conference, held on the third floor of Market Village, was chaired by Prachuap Khiri Khan Deputy Governor Mr. Komkrit Charoenpattanasombat. It was attended by several prominent figures, including Mr. Archawan Kongkanand, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Prachuap Office; Ms. Patcharee Sombattaveepoon, Tourism and Sports Officer for Prachuap Khiri Khan; Mr. Tiwat Jaemsawang, President of the Prachuap Khiri Khan Tourism Business Association; and Ms. Thanchanok Jomtrak, Regional Director of the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP). Representatives from the tourism industry, government agencies, private sector, and media were also present.
Mr. Komkrit highlighted Prachuap Khiri Khan’s potential as a tourist destination, noting the province’s unique geographical features that support its vision of becoming an international tourism hub.
He emphasised that tourism is seen as a key driver for economic growth, with efforts focused on spreading the benefits of tourism to all eight districts. By doing so, the province aims to reduce inequality and create opportunities for local businesses and residents.
The event, organised by the Prachuap Khiri Khan Tourism Business Association, will feature a variety of booths showcasing local tourism operators, hotels, traditional food, and products from all eight districts.
Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase items at special prices exclusive to the event. Among the highlights are vouchers for stays at leading hotels across the province and a prize draw for plane tickets courtesy of Thai AirAsia. Entertainment, including musical performances, will also be part of the programme.
Mr. Tiwat Jaemsawang, President of the association, explained that the event is designed to encourage travel throughout the entire province. Around 25 booths have already been confirmed, offering a mix of local products and services. The event is seen as an important step in promoting travel across Prachuap Khiri Khan and boosting local economies.
Mr. Archawan Kongkanant, Director of the TAT Prachuap Office, expressed support for the event, which he said will help in promoting tourism during the green season. He noted that this is a valuable opportunity to showcase the attractions and products of the southern districts in particular, and to raise awareness of the province’s offerings among tourists. He encouraged both locals and visitors to attend the event from 4 to 6 October.
