First-timers at Wetherspoons, globetrotting pair Brandon and Anja, were left gobsmacked by one thing in particular at the pub chain.
The travel-savvy pair, who document their adventures on their YouTube channel ‘Where Are We?’ with more than 9,000 followers, have explored a multitude of destinations, from Serbia to Canada.
Their initial encounter with a J. J. Moon’s Wetherspoons in London left them particularly astounded by the breakfast bill. Feasting on three dishes that cost around £16, Brandon couldn’t help but point out the “pretty good deal” while Anja was taken by the bonus of unlimited refills on coffee and tea.
Reflecting on his full English breakfast, Brandon expressed his surprise: “As Anja said, for the price, this is really good. I’m kind of shocked, actually. This is only what? Three or four pounds, something like that.”
He went on to disclose the deal they’d snagged: “There’s a promotion on the one that we got, but yeah, it’s like four pounds for everything. That’s like less than half of the price of the one that we got in London so pretty good deal.”

The tasty spread included a traditional full English breakfast, eggs benedict, and a breakfast muffin. Anja didn’t hold back on her praise, particularly enjoying the black pudding that she described as “really good” and delighting in the “really yummy” spices.
Brandon gave the black pudding rave reviews, echoing Anja’s thoughts that it was “really good” – noting it was “nice and crispy” without a “strong irony taste”.
About the eggs benedict, he admitted for the price point it was “not bad at all”, praising the bacon which “really shines”, though he remarked the Hollandaise sauce didn’t quite pop out “that much”.
Anja also relished the “delicious” bacon but concurred with Brandon on the underwhelming Hollandaise, labelling it as “not very flavourful”, admitting it “almost just tastes like the egg”.
The sausage and bacon muffin also received the thumbs up, with Anja even dubbing it the top pick of the trio.

When they revisited the bustling Wetherspoons later at 4pm, Anja opted for a Brewdog Elvis Juice and Brandon for an espresso martini.
Brandon mused: “The menu for Wetherspoons is so eclectic and strange. There are curries, chillies, obviously deep fried dishes, burgers. And apparently at some locations, pizzas, but this location didn’t have any pizzas.”
Their food haul included halloumi fries, chicken wings, jackfruit bao buns, scampi with chips and mushy peas, and Japanese katsu chicken curry.
Wrapping up his experience, Brandon said: “I went in with, obviously, pretty low expectations given what people said about it, but given the price, it’s really not that bad at all.
“Maybe it’s not the best food in the world, of course, but for the price, pretty good, pretty reasonable.”
Anja chimed in: “And I think especially for drinks, it’s worth it. There’s some beers that are £1.99 or 89. So it’s definitely worth it if you’re on a budget like us.”
