WHITEFISH, Mont. — The Whitefish Sustainable Tourism Management Committee held a town hall Wednesday to discuss this summer’s tourism and a look at what this winter may look like.
Year-to-date, data shows visitors spent $61,575,580. That’s 58% of the total spending in Whitefish — $105,614,799, including resident spending.
The committee also shared data like visit counts, lodging stays and a look into what they expect from tourists in the winter months.
Panelists sat down to answer questions. The president of Whitefish Mountain Resort talked about what he sees happening this snow season.
“Season pass sales, we were off of last year by like 1.2%,” said Nick Polumbus, president of Whitefish Mountain Resort. “Last year was the eighth consecutive record year of season pass sales, so to be off by 1% to eight straight years of growth is just fine.”
Polumbus said reservations are ahead of last year, and as long as they get snow, the snowgoers will come.
