New Movies & Shows To Stream This Weekend: The Lincoln Lawyer, Fanatical: The Catfishing of Tegan and Sara, Brothers + More
This week on streaming, a new season of Netflix’s legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer arrives with ten new episodes. Over on Hulu, Erin Lee Carr, the documentarian who brought us Britney Vs. Spears delivers a new doc, Fanatical: The Catfishing of Tegan and Sara, about the real-life identity theft of musician Tegan Quin. And on Prime Video, Josh Brolin stars with Peter Dinnklage in the caper comedy Brothers.
Tegan and Sara are pretty famous. They have performed with Taylor Swift, wrote the theme song to The Lego Movie and have a massive fan army devoted to them. But fame doesn’t insulate you from hackers and catfishers and scams, and the new Hulu documentary Fanatical: The Catfishing of Tegan and Sara exposes the frightening ordeal that Tegan has gone through for over a decade, as someone posing as her has catfished numerous fans and stolen her identity. The story has been kept quiet until now; you can watch it unfold when the new doc drops on October 18.
New on Netflix October 17: The Lincoln Lawyer (Season 3)
Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer, which is based on the book series by Michael Connelly, returns for season three this week. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo plays the titular lawyer Mickey Haller (referred to as the Lincoln Lawyer for the practice he runs out of his car) for a season based on Connelly’s book The Gods of Guilt.
New on Prime Video October 17: Brothers
Peter Dinklage and Josh Brolin star as brothers whose testy relationship is challenged even more when they take a road trip to handle some criminal business in Brothers. Brendan Fraser, Glenn Close, and Taylour Paige co-star in the action-comedy caper which arrived on Thursday.
