Zendaya can’t get enough of Boston, it seems.
The “Dune,” “Euphoria,” and “Spider-Man” actress was photographed on Newbury Street in Back Bay earlier this week. An artist at Rainbows Pottery Studio posted photos on Instagram of Zendaya perusing a selection of painted mugs at an outdoor display. The two even posed together in one picture.
“So blessed to have said my artwork has been admired by the Zendaya,” the artist said in a post shared on @potterypaintedbymags. “As she was looking at the table with 30 different artists and multiple varying pieces she picked up the mug I had painted.”
Zendaya fans sites quickly reposted the photos, which showed the star bundled up in a puffy black coat near the pottery studio at 216 Newbury St.
Zendaya, 28, is in Boston to film “The Drama,” director Kristoffer Borgli’s new movie for A24, according to multiple media reports. Word is she’s starring opposite Robert Pattinson, 38.
The film “centers on a couple, played by Zendaya and Pattinson, who in the days leading up to their wedding, end up in a crisis when unexpected revelations derail what one of them thought they knew of the other,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
During pre-production in early September, location scouts posted flyers in Back Back and Charlestown to alert residents that filming would be happening in the neighborhoods this fall. The film is also set to film in Paris, London, Tokyo and Singapore, according to IMDb Pro.
Singer and “Licorice Pizza” actress Alana Haim, 32, and “Elemental” actor Mamoudou Athie, 36, are also “in talks” to join the cast of the movie, Deadline reported.
This isn’t Zendaya’s first time in Boston. She made quite the impression in 2022 while in production for Luca Guadagnino’s “Challengers” alongside actors Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor. The 2024 film took place almost exclusively in Massachusetts, with scenes filmed at The Ritz Carlton in downtown Boston, The Wedgewood Club in Bedford and Wheaton College in Norton.
During filming for the tennis drama, Zendaya was spotted around the city with boyfriend and “Spider-Man” co-star Tom Holland, having a quick bite at Tatte Bakery & Cafe in Downtown Boston and strolling hand-in-hand on Newbury Street.
