Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has starred in numerous successful films. Emraan Hashmi’s father, Anwar Hashmi appeared in the popular movie Baharon Ki Manzil, starring Meena Kumari and Dharmendra in the lead. An old video clip from the movie went viral on social media, where Anwar was accompanied by Farida Jalal and Meena Kumari. Even while he worked on one movie, the actor impressed everyone with his performance alongside Farida Jalal.
It may surprise you to learn that Emraan Hashmi’s grandmother, in addition to his father, was a well-known Bollywood actress in the 1950s. Known as Meharbano Mohammad changed her name to Purnima Das Verma after marrying filmmaker Bhagwan Das Verma. Emraan Hashmi’s grandfather travelled to Pakistan during India Pak partition.

His father then came back to Mumbai and made his home here. Mahesh Bhatt’s mother and Imran’s grandma Purnima were sisters. Few people are aware that celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan have appeared on screen alongside Imran Khan’s grandmother. Yes, in Amitabh’s smash hit movie Zanjeer, Purnima Das Verma portrayed Amitabh’s mother.
In fact, director Mohit Suri is also related to Emraan. The Malang movie director is filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt’s nephew. Bhatt is the youngest brother of Mohit Suri’s mother. Therefore, Mohit is Mahesh’s own nephew, and Emraan is the son of his first cousin. Hence, Mohit, Emraan, Pooja, and Alia Bhatt are cousins. How interesting!
With ‘They Call Him OG‘, directed by Sujeeth and starring Pawan Kalyan and Priyanka Arul Mohan, Emraan Hashmi will shortly make his Telugu debut. According to reports, the ‘Tiger 3’ actor has an estimated net worth of Rs 120 crore and charges Rs 6 crore for every film, plus a cut of the revenues.
