Cork is bracing for flooding as Storm Ashley is due to hit the Rebel County during a period of high spring tides.
Rivers across Cork have swelled over the last few days and Cork City Council has advised residents and businesses on Leeside to take all necessary precautions.
We’ve seen minor flooding this morning along the quays in Cork city and low-lying areas will be worst hit by today’s adverse weather.
Cork is under a Status Yellow weather alert with Met Éireann warning of fallen trees, localised flooding, and difficult travel conditions. The entire west Coast – including neighbouring Kerry – is under a Status Orange warning.
