Corbin Pitts isn’t wasting any time getting his film career off the ground. After graduating in May from North Little Rock High School, he quickly set to work on “Good Time Charley,” the debut feature he wrote and directed.
“Five days after I graduated, I started shooting,” Pitts, 18, said during a recent visit home from Atlanta, where he is studying film and TV at Savannah College of Art and Design. “For the months of July and August I was working on editing.”
Set in Central Arkansas, “Good Time Charley” features a cast made up almost entirely of Natural State actors, including Natalie Canerday (“Sling Blade,” “Shotgun Stories”), Ashlie Atkinson (“The Gilded Age”) and Barry Clifton (“Yellowstone”).
The film tells the story of astronomer Charley Codwell who, after exposing a conspiracy around a comet, loses everything.
