Kolkata: The Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) has prepared a plan to set up the proposed pedestrian subway at Salt Lake Karunamoyee crossing and plans to send the report to the state govt’s project clearance committee for approval.
Officials said after KMDA receives approval, tenders would be floated to take up the work. “Work to set up the subway is expected to be taken up after the end of the next book fair,” said a KMDA official.The subway will have both staircases and lift facilities.
As per the proposed plan, one end of the subway will connect towards Karunamoyee bus terminus and another end towards Vidyasagar Bhavan.
