A business in Patrickswell suffered serious damage in a fire last night.
The blaze broke out at a takeaway in Patrickswell.
Gardaí and three units of Limerick City Fire Service attended the scene after the alarm was raised around 6.20pm.
The heat of the fire caused the front window of the business on the main street to shatter.
Two eyewitnesses told Live95 News there was a power outage in the area due to storm Ashley.
It’s thought that when it returned there was a power surge which may have ignited the flames.
The main street on Patrickswell had to be closed with diversions in place while emergency services cleaned up the scene
