TV star James May – also (still) known as Captain Slow – has been spotted filmed scenes for his latest TV show in North Yorkshire.
May, who is known all around the world for co-presenting BBC’s Top Gear and Amazon Prime’s The Grand Tour with Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond, was spotted in Whitby filming on Monday, October 21.
Eagle-eyed residents saw May on the docks as his crew were filming someone dressed as a sailor dancing in front of him.

Last we heard of May, he had just finished filming the last ever The Grand Tour episode as the trio parted ways from their 22-year-long working relationship. But it seems like he’s back, and back in North Yorkshire.
He was spotted filming scenes for his solo show in an upcoming series on Channel 5 called ‘The Great Explorers With James May’.
May will delve into the lives and voyages of renowned explorers such as James Cook, Christopher Columbus, and Sir Walter Raleigh. This would make sense why he is up in the North East, could we be seeing more of James around North Yorkshire this week?
