The Scouse actor has been confirmed as part of the cast for the film adaptation of Peaky Blinders
Stephen Graham has been spotted in character on the set of Peaky Blinders. The Scouse actor has been confirmed as part of the cast for the film adaptation of the hit BBC series.
The 51-year-old played Liverpudlian docker and union man Hayden Stagg in the final season of the BBC drama. It has yet to be confirmed if he is playing the same character but it is expected he will be reprising the role.
Stephen was snapped on the set in Birmingham on Monday night. He was onboard a narrowboat dressed in period costume outside the Tap and Spile pub on Gas Street Basin.
The BBC series ran from 2013 to 2022 and followed the rise of the Shelby family from after the First World War. The film, called The Immortal Man, is now expected to pick up the family’s fortunes a few years later entering the WWII years.

The new film is set to be released on Netflix. Peaky Blinders is set in Birmingham but has a strong association with Liverpool as many scenes are filming in the city.
It was rumoured production on the new film took place earlier this month. ECHO photographers captured a huge set outside St George’s Hall as film crews shot what appeared to be an explosion.
The scene saw fire and smoke erupt into the sky, with “panicked” extras seen frantically fleeing an old-fashioned bus. It wasn’t confirmed that this was the Peaky Blinders movie, but a number of the cast wore flat claps, which may prove a huge hint as to what the production was.
St George’s Hall has become a popular filming destination for a range of films in recent years, including The Batman and the upcoming Fountain of Youth film, directed by Guy Ritchie.
Liverpool is now the UK’s second most-filmed city behind London. It has become a regular sight to see film crews filming the next big movie or TV programme on the city’s streets. Show creator Steven Knight told the ECHO how the city’s aesthetic was vital to bringing his grand vision to life.
Steven knew Liverpool was the perfect place to film the show on his first day on set when he laid eyes on the interior of the Tobacco Warehouse at Stanley Dock. He told the ECHO: “The size and the scale of that great big warehouse was absolutely amazing and makes you feel as though you’re in New York.
“I’d written it with that sort of scale in mind and then suddenly, to be in a place, a geographical location, that is almost encouraging you and is saying ‘yeah, go for it’. We could have started shooting in a muddy field somewhere but we started shooting there and it was just great because it gave everybody that feeling, that swagger that we can do this. This is something that we’re doing on a big scale.”
