Liam Neeson will soon hang up his particular set of skills.
Neeson, 72, announced he was thinking of retiring from action films in 2025. “Maybe the end of next year. I think that’s it,” the “Taken” star told People in an interview published Wednesday.
The actor is set to star in the action film “Absolution” next month, and while the movie’s director, Hans Petter Moland, said Neeson kept up fine, the actor is trying to be pragmatic.
“I’m 72 — it has to stop at some stage,” he told the outlet, who does sometimes leave certain moves to stunt actor Mark Vanselow. “You can’t fool audiences. I don’t want Mark to be fighting my fight scenes for me.”
2025 will be a busy year for Neeson, who also is expected to star in the thriller “Cold Storage,” according to IMDb.

Pamela Anderson to staropposite Liam Neeson in ‘Naked Gun’ reboot
The “Baywatch” actress, 56, will star opposite Neeson as the love interest in a reboot of the police comedy series that originally starred Leslie Nielsen, a representative for Anderson confirmed to USA TODAY earlier this year.
The film is set for a July 2025 release, Paramount Pictures previously announced.
Based on the TV series “Police Squad!,” the original “Naked Gun” trilogy starred Nielsen as foolish lieutenant Frank Drebin. Priscilla Presley portrayed the love interest in all three films.
Neeson had high praise for Anderson: “I’m madly in love with her,” he told People. “I can’t compliment her enough. She’s funny.”
However, Neeson also opened up to People about dating, making it clear he’s “past all that,” since the death of his wife, Natasha Richardson.
