The Windsor & Maidenhead Business and Community Awards will provide the perfect opportunity to showcase the range of companies operating in the Royal Borough.
That’s the view of Sorbon Estates, the headline sponsor for this year’s event, which returns to Windsor next month.
The annual awards ceremony, organised by the Maidenhead & District Chamber of Commerce, aims to recognise the achievements of companies large and small.
Award categories include Best Company to Work For, Best Micro Business and the coveted Business of the Year prize.
Katherine Croom, managing director at Sorbon Estates, the commercial arm of the Shanly Group, said the event is an ideal forum to provide exposure for the ‘innovative’ companies operating in the area.
She said: “We have a lot of property investments in Maidenhead, Windsor and the borough at large and therefore we work with these businesses and we think celebrating them is really important.
“There’s so many great businesses operating in the borough.
“Everyone knows a lot about Windsor and it has quite a high profile.
“In Maidenhead, where we own a number of properties, there’s such innovative and great new businesses opening and I think this is a great forum to talk about it and get some exposure for these companies.
“I think Maidenhead is a really exciting place to be at the moment and we’re seeing a lot of new types of businesses opening who historically wouldn’t have located in Maidenhead.”
The managing directorheralded the arrival of a range of ‘exciting’ new businesses in Maidenhead amid the town centre’s ongoing regeneration.
She said: “As a business, Sorbon really like to work with independent retailers.
“We feel they provide a unique town centre and it makes it interesting so more shoppers and diners will come.
“Being able to celebrate these brands and raise awareness – hopefully it will attract new businesses to the town, not just in our properties but throughout the whole town.
“This is a great forum so people can see how well Maidenhead is doing.”
As well as the success of businesses, the awards ceremony also aims to recognise community heroes who have gone ‘above and beyond’ to make a difference to the lives of others in the area.
A Local Hero Award and Young Hero Award will be dished out this year.
Katherine added: “In any community, people who are giving back to the community need to be recognised so we can encourage other people to give back in the same way.
“Everyone at the awards room last year had their jaws on the floor listening to what work had been done.
“It was fantastic and just encouraging people to give back to the community like that is what these awards are for.”
The event is held in association and partnership with Baylis Community Media CIC, publisher of the Maidenhead Advertiser and Slough & Windsor Express.
It will take place at the Castle Hotel, Windsor, on Friday, November 22.
