Can you introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is Fatima Muhammad, an indigene of Borno state and an actress and a filmmaker.
Your background please?
I was Born on November 24, 1999 in Maiduguri. I had my primary and secondary school education in Abuja.
I also did my JAMB examination in Abuja. I joined many entrepreneurial activities and I hustled a lot, making money and getting exposed to the outside world after I left my comfort zone for Kano.
How did you join Kannywood?
It was in 2022 and it was genuinely coincidental because it wasn’t in my blueprint to be an actress or a filmmaker. However, you can’t help what was being prescribed to you by the divine powers.
The film industry has a very wide scope; what is your area of expertise?
I’m a good actress and a potential production manager.
I’m about to become one because it’s a dream that is about to come true in the nearest future.
How many films have you featured in so far?
I will mention but few; MAI MARTABA by Prince Daniel Aboki, BURI by Kamilu Dan Hausa, Mijin Kanwata, Bakin Kulli and so on.
What achievements have you recorded so far?
So far, I am the first Kannywood star with a high budget movie of over N100 million.
I also got a nomination by the AMMA as a Best Promising Up Coming Actress. I was nominated alongside four others, and God willing, I will be the triumphant nominee, taking the award home!
What are the challenges you have faced in the industry?
They’re routine challenges everybody faces: lack of time to sleep, waking up early in the morning, going to set without a precise time for closing, getting occupied and buried in the job that you hardly got time for your family and friends.
How did you find your self at Mai Martaba?
I went for an auditioning during the exercise and I happened to pass with colorful and flying colors. I did a good job and justice to the character I portrayed. I got selected and magic the happened!
What is your role in Mai Martaba?
It’s the major character; Queen Sangaya, the heir apparent of King Sanaya. Conflicts happened as to legitimacy of a woman being a heir regardless of the King’s vow.
What is your goal in Kannywood?
My goal in Kannywood is to become the best I could be.
What is your best film among thw ones you have featured in?
I will say it is: Mai Martaba.
What do you anticipate for Kannywood in the next coming years?
It’s a promising industry that’s going to be producing great billionaire filmmakers!
Who is your mentor in Kannywood?
I happened to have two mentors in the duo industries; Prince Daniel Aboki with Nollywood and Kamilu Ibrahim Dan Hausa with Kannywood.
What advice can you give to give to spring Kannywood?
They should work hard and have a focus and purpose, let them have a blueprint of where they are and where they are going. I promised them a promising future in the industry.
What is your message to your fans, loved ones and Kannywood industry?
My message to my fans, loved ones and Kannywood industry is that I won’t fail any of you them
