The Prey Veng Provincial Department of Tourism states it completely rejects the spread of false information by Radio Free Asia in a report entitled ‘Mountain business affects tourism in Ba Phnom region’.
The report appeared on the FRA web page on the 27th of October and claims that tourist numbers are decreasing because ‘large-scale demolition business caused damage to this famous historic tourist site.’
In response, The Prey Veng Provincial Department of Tourism states that the report is an action taken to slander the public with malicious intent to mislead the authorities and affect the efforts to preserve and develop the tourism area in Ba Phnom district, as well as the whole province.
The Department of Tourism states that it would like to confirm that in the first 9 months of 2024, Nokor Phnom Resort received 257,249 tourists, especially in October, the number of tourists increased from week to week.
Prey Veng Provincial Administration, Ba Phnom District Administration and Prey Veng Provincial Department of Tourism always pay attention to the organization of this tourist site to have a series of religious tourism events to attract tourists to visit, create job opportunities and increase income for people and tour operators.
