To The Daily Sun,
The Biden administration has taken several steps which will impact tourism here in New Hampshire and the world. Their direct focus has been on pandemic recovery and economic relief. Efforts like promoting vaccinations have helped restore confidence in travel here in New England. The Administration and the New Hampshire Democratic Party also have supported funding for struggling businesses — especially those in the tourism sector through relief packages. Additionally, initiatives at improving travel infrastructure such as bridges and roads as well as national parks make travel more appealing and accessible for all. Through President Joe Biden’s “Build Back Better Program,” $750 million was awarded in the form of 185 grants to rebuild regions hard hit by declines in industries through projects to build new tourist attractions (museums, event venues, hiking trails campgrounds, etc.), develop tourism with related economic plans and support for workforce training in the tourism sector. President Biden’s and Kamala Harris’ $750 million travel, tourism and outdoor recreation program supports communities here and across the country whose economics were hard hit by damage to the travel, tourism and outdoor recreation sectors from the COVID-19 pandemic through $240 million across 126 competitive awards, as well as $510 million in awards directly to each of the 59 U.S. states and territories.
Please support these Herculean efforts and vote Democratic up and down your ballot this Nov. 5.
