LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Shondra Summers-Armstrong, a candidate for the Las Vegas City Council, is vying for a seat in the historic Westside of Las Vegas.
Summers-Armstrong, who grew up in Oakland and moved to Las Vegas in the early 1990s, has a background in law and public service. She worked for Judge Del Guy III from 1993 until his retirement in 1996 and later joined the Regional Transportation Commission.
Summers-Armstrong, who was elected to the Nevada State Legislature in 2021, expressed her commitment to the community, saying, “My vision is let’s create a space where people want to come back. And for people that live here, let’s get them enthusiastic about caring about their community. Let’s get them to the table about what they want to see in their communities. Let’s get it done.”
She emphasized her love for the historic Westside and Ward 5, stating she has no plans to move and is dedicated to making the area a better place to live, work, and run a small business.
Summers-Armstrong, married to local attorney Karl Armstrong for nearly 30 years, is a mother of three boys and is eager to continue her efforts in improving the community.
