Netflix fans will be keeping their eyes peeled for the freshest horror flicks to scare them senseless this Halloween.
There have been plenty of spine-tingling Hollywood features this year, from big-screen hits like Longlegs, Smile 2 (which is currently in cinemas) and The Substance to streaming gems like Don’t Move and The Deliverance.
With the spookiest night of the year fast approaching, scare-addicts and thrill-seekers will be getting ready to don some frightening fashion and head out to parties or trick-or-treating with their young ones.
However, there will also be plenty of people who prefer to stay in, curled up with a partner or friends with some horror favourites or even scare themselves silly solo with a chilling movie marathon.
For Netflix subscribers who are looking for something new to watch through their fingers this Halloween, don’t miss the supernatural thriller Sting, which is coming to Netflix on Thursday (October 31).
Arachnophobes beware – this is another classic giant spider monster movie, though one that horror fans thought offered an “excellent” fresh take when it was first released earlier this year.
One gushing Google review reads: “Excellent creature feature that would feel right at home in the 90s. The family is incredibly believable and the supporting cast are well rounded and fun to watch.
“The movie is much more gruesome than I expected which is always a plus and Sting itself looks great and is practical a decent portion of the time. A very fun time at the movies for sure!”
Someone else wrote: “I enjoyed it thoroughly. Some fun and creative ideas. A few jump scares, and good old fashioned practical effects mixed in with the CGI give it almost an old school feel as well as the modern.
“I’ll definitely be adding it to my list of movies to buy. Don’t listen to critics, see it for yourself.”
And a third said: “Loved it! I’m so glad I watched this in a well lit room and not sitting in a darkened movie theater…wondering if something is crawling up the back of my seat. Great fun!”
