OneBefore, the UK managing general agent (MGA) specialising in consumer insurance with a focus on accident, absence, health, and travel insurance, has launched Pulse Globetrotter – Medical Travel Insurance, a new medical tourism travel insurance in partnership with Pulse Insurance.
Vered Lobel, CEO of OneBefore, said: “Medical tourism is booming. As waiting list times on the NHS have reached a record high, the number of patients leaving Britain for overseas medical treatment, including hip, knee and cataract operations, fertility treatment, and bariatric, dental and cosmetic surgery, has trebled. This trend is only going to accelerate, with medical travel numbers forecast to increase.
“Up until now, people travelling overseas for medical procedures have typically been excluded from travel insurance policies. Pulse Globetrotter – Medical Travel Insurance effectively closes this gap in cover and demonstrates OneBefore’s commitment to partnering with distribution partners and skilled underwriters like Pulse Insurance to develop products that address market needs.”
Graham Sims, Business Development at Pulse Insurance, said: “People travel to other countries to get healthcare for many reasons, including cost, to cut waiting times and to receive care from a provider who shares their culture and language, yet most travel without specialist insurance cover.
“Pulse Globetrotter – Medical Travel Insurance covers typical medical and additional expenses, including repatriation for injury or illness arising from an event not related to the planned treatment. It also covers medical expenses for life-threatening complications that could occur during the planned procedure.”
OneBefore recently launched a new travel insurance product on travel insurance broker distribution platform Aneevo.
