Greaves Cotton Limited has appointed Ramachandra Puttanna as the new Business Head for EV Solutions & New Businesses within its Greaves Retail division. Effective immediately, Puttanna will oversee the strategic growth of Greaves Retail’s electric vehicle (EV) components and new verticals. Reporting to Narasimha Jayakumar, CEO of Greaves Retail, his role aligns with Greaves’ push towards sustainable mobility solutions across India.Greaves Retail, operating with an asset-light model, provides comprehensive sales, service, and spare parts solutions for a range of vehicles including three-wheelers, two-wheelers, small commercial vehicles, electric vehicles, and construction equipment. The division is positioned among the top three in the aftermarket segment, ensuring high vehicle uptime and maximized asset productivity, the company said in a media release.
Experience and educational background
Ramachandra Puttanna brings over 35 years of experience from prominent companies such as Fenner India, BOSCH India, Oman Trading, Magneti Marelli, and ZF Group. Prior to his new role, he was the Vice President of the Aftermarket business at ZF Group, where he managed operations in India and the SAARC regions.
His educational background includes a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mysore University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (Marketing) from Bangalore University, and an Advanced Program in Business Management from IIM Bangalore.
