GLOCESTER, R.I. (WLNE) — The Glocester Police Department said a car crashed into a business on Putnam Pike early Saturday morning.
Police and EMS responded to the area around 12:30 p.m. to find the vehicle had come to rest inside the building.
The lone occupant of the vehicle was extricated and transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.
The owner of the business, Who Cut the Cheesecake, posted a picture of the incident on social media and said that no one was hurt, but the business would remain temporarily closed.
Police said the nearby intersection was temporarily closed for investigation.
The Glocester Building Official also responded and ordered part of the plaza to remain closed pending a structural assessment due to “catastrophic damage.”
