Students at Christa McAuliffe school in Oxnard received special treats Monday in the form of books and berries.
Organized by berry grower Driscoll’s in partnership with literacy nonprofit Reading is Fundamental, the event provided free books, special reading time in English and Spanish and goodies at the end. The company also distributed its children’s book “A Sofia’s Special” as part of the giveaway.
Driscoll’s planned to offer a similar program at a school in Santa Maria Friday.
