The Rise of a Warrior Hunter (Detor), a captivating film by Ghanaian filmmaker Mark Cofie Jnr., is now showing on United Airlines flights.
The film, which premiered in March 2024 to critical acclaim, has received high praise both locally and internationally, solidifying its place as one of the top Ghanaian productions of the year. This marks a significant milestone for Ghanaian cinema as Detor reaches a global audience.
The movie’s producer, writer, and director, Mark Cofie Jnr., attributed this achievement to his team’s dedication and hard work. “It is refreshing to see Detor rise to this height. Indeed, hard work pays, and having the right team ensures success,” he remarked. Detor is a unique retelling of Ewe folklore, following the journey of the warrior Detor, his twin sons Atsu Tsaala and Etse Tsaali, and their migration from Ngotsie to their present-day settlements.
