Hull workspace firm Chameleon Business Interiors has acquired a longstanding Cheshire-based counterpart.
The Humber Quays firm, which has delivered work for clients such as McCain, Lumo and Hull University, has bought Chester-based Hunters Contracts North. Chameleon said the acquisition boosts its portfolio and brings in members of the Hunters North team – including managing director Sarah Morriss and head of customer services Pip Bennett – to strengthen its presence in the region.
Hunters has delivered office spaces for clients such as Liverpool BID, Valto and Clarity Travel, among others, and is said to represent 20 years of experience in the North West market. The Studio North-based business provides interior design, fit-out, sustainability and homeworking design services.
Shaun Watts, Chameleon’s chairman said there was strong synergy between the two firms and highlighted the experience of Ms Morriss and her team. The acquisition is said to mark a key milestone for Chameleon, which has been designing and delivering workspace interiors for 25 years – as it expands its footprint.
A recent expansion of Chameleon’s sales team and the appointment of a new head of marketing are also part of its strategy to drive growth in the UK, US, and Canadian markets, the firm said.
Last year Chameleon delivered Hull’s then largest office location, ResQ’s expansion into the second floor of Hammonds of Hull which represented 64,000 sqft of office floorspace. The business is also delivering projects in North America.
Sarah Morriss, managing director of Hunters North, added: “We’ve built a fantastic business with a reputation for attention to detail and outstanding customer service. Our clients include McDonald’s, TT Games, First Response Finance, Canal & River Trust and CBRE. They trust us to deliver projects that meet their needs and now, with Chameleon, we can offer even more comprehensive interior design, fit out and refurbishment solutions. We’re thrilled about this new chapter and excited to continue offering exceptional service to our clients.”
