MathsFit, an innovative after-school club that integrates maths with imaginative games to engage primary school children, has won three awards at the National Women’s Business Awards.
At the awards ceremony in London last week, MathsFit secured a silver for Social Impact, gold for Best New Business and – “as a surprise honour” – the overall Best Business Award. MathsFit was founded in 2022 by Lisa Eagling and is offering its unique curriculum at seven schools across Cambridgeshire, serving 150 children each week.
Lisa said: “It is overwhelming and brilliant to receive these awards. I’m incredibly proud of everyone involved in MathsFit and thankful to all of the schools and parents who give me and the team an opportunity to share our passion for maths and sport with children.”
The programme consolidates classroom maths learning through interactive sports and games, creating an inclusive, fun-based environment that defies traditional gender norms around maths and sports.
MathsFit is now hoping to expand its reach to additional schools looking for an active and engaging after-school club.
