A Parksville business was recognized for outstanding customer service with a nomination for a Better Business Bureau Torch Award.
M&N Mattress and Sofa Shop has taken the award several times, including in 2023, and was a finalist this year.
Fifty-two companies on Vancouver Island were selected as finalists by an independent panel of volunteer judges, after being nominated by their customers, according to the BBB of Vancouver Island.
The winners in 15 categories were announced at an awards gala at the Union Club of B.C. in Victoria on Nov. 1.
“Each year our BBB honours businesses that go above and beyond when it comes to trustworthy business practices and customer service excellence,” said Rosalind Scott, president and CEO of BBB Vancouver Island in a news release. “This year we would like to congratulate the following 15 businesses for their outstanding commitment to our community.”
The 2024 winners are:

-General Contractor – Birch Bark Builders Inc. (Victoria)
-Heating and Air Conditioning – ServiceXCEL (Nanaimo)
-Home Improvement and Renovation – Island Walk-In Tubs Renovations (Victoria)
-Moving and Hauling – Mikus Transport (Parksville)
-Plumbing Contractor – Black Fern Plumbing and Gas Ltd. (Sooke)
-Professional Services – Tellwell Talent Inc. (Victoria)
-Roofing Contractors – High Definition Roofing Ltd. (Duncan)
-Senior Health and Wellness – Kathleen’s Yoga-in-a-Chair (Victoria)
-Window and Door Installation – Green City Glass Ltd. (Victoria)
Mikus Transport has a facility in Parksville and is based in Nanaimo.
M&N Mattress also took home the customer service award in 2017 and 2021, and were the runner-up in 2022.
