Troy University will host a summit on the use and ethical challenges that businesses face with Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Tuesday, November 12.
The summit is part of TROY’s AI Forward Initiative in partnership with the Better Business Bureau Educational Foundation. Dr. Richard Scott Nokes, Director of the AI Forward Initiative, says the decision to host this event started with inquiries from businesses looking for guidance on AI.
“We’re proud to partner with the Better Business Bureau so that attendees can be confident that they’re hearing the latest in ethical and effective AI use for business communications,” he said.
Topics that will be discussed include AI ethics, educational solutions, business challenges and ethical communication. Dr. Nokes also says that additional resources on AI will be given once the summit ends.
“After the event, we’ll use what was said to make a module for the Better Business Bureau’s Laws of Life program, and it will be taught in Alabama high schools starting in the spring,” he said.
The summit is sponsored by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education and other guests will include individuals from the Alabama Securities Commission and the Alabama House of Representatives.
“If you’re a small business owner, you really can’t afford to miss this symposium,” Dr. Nokes said. “It will bring together Alabama’s political, financial, and educational leadership in the area of artificial intelligence in an event that’s free and open to the public. Usually at this kind of event, someone is trying to sell you something, but this project is sponsored by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education for the benefit of our local businesses, our University students, and high school students around the State.”
The summit will be held in Claudia Crosby Theater from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. To RSVP or to learn more about this event click here.
