On Thursday, at 8 p.m., CineStar cinemas will launch the Cinema Book Club programme with the eagerly awaited film Conclave.
In addition to a talented cast, this psychological thriller delves into the intrigues and secrets behind the closed doors of the Vatican. Directed by Edward Berger, known for his award-winning war film All Quiet on the Western Front, Conclave is an adaptation of the bestselling novel by Robert Harris. When the Pope dies unexpectedly, cardinals gather in the Vatican to choose his successor and shape the future of the Catholic Church.
The aim of the Cinema Book Club is to showcase films based on literary works, inviting the audience to connect these two forms of art, as they present a single story expressed in different ways.
Screenings of Conclave will begin at 8 p.m. in all CineStar cinemas across Serbia (Belgrade, Novi Sad, Pančevo, Zrenjanin). The evening’s partner, Laguna, will provide free books for the lucky few, and special bookmarks will be available while supplies last. At CineStar in Belgrade (Ada shopping centre), the evening will kick off with an engaging panel discussion on the book Conclave and its film adaptation, in collaboration with publisher Laguna, starting at 7:30 p.m.
