The Osceola Friends of the Library will be hosting a book sale starting today, Thursday, Nov. 7 from 12-5 p.m., continuing Friday, Nov. 8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is a great opportunity to support your reading habits while also supporting the Friends. The cost is $4 to fill a grocery size bag, $.25 for paperbacks and children’s books and $.50 for hardcover fiction and nonfiction. Friends of the Library bags will also be available for $2.
Help Me Grow: Books, Balls and Blocks takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This pre-school program is a fun and free community screening event for families and children ages birth to 5 years old. Various volunteer–led activities stations will be provided to engage children in developmentally appropriate play while parents complete an Ages & Stages Questionnaire. This program is presented by Help Me Grow Florida, to connect families with community-based programs for developmental, behavioral and healthcare services.
E.S.O.L. for Beginners takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 6:30-8 p.m. This program allows others to become familiar with the English language.
Spend quality time with your child at other pre-school age parents and children with Flex Your Fingers: Fine Motor Skills Workshop on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Participate in pre-planned activities that encourage the development of fine motor skills, listening skills, early reading skills, socialization and creativity through stories, games and activities.
Nutrition and Healthy Cooking, presented by Abir Blaney, Nutrition Education Coordinator with Second harvest Food Bank of Central Florida takes place on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 12-1 p.m. Learn how to shop smarter using nutritional information to make healthier choices.
The Poinciana Library is located at 101 N. Doverplum Ave.
All Library programs are free and open to the public.
