Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Culture (MINC) announced that over 700 free parking spaces will be provided during the XXVI Santo Domingo International Book Fair (FILSD 2024) to facilitate public access to the event. The fair, themed “Books Connect,” will take place from November 7 to 17 at the Plaza de la Cultura Juan Pablo Duarte, with a special dedication to writer Mateo Morrison.
To accommodate visitors, 100 parking spaces will be available at the Ministry of Higher Education parking lot on Máximo Gómez Avenue, from Monday to Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and weekends from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Additionally, the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center will offer 200 parking spaces daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., while 250 spaces will be available at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, with extended hours on weekends.
The Universidad Iberoamericana (Unibe) will also provide 226 spaces on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Parking will be available for school buses at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, where buses will drop off and pick up students at designated gates.
Pedestrian entrances to the fairgrounds are located on Máximo Gómez Avenue, Pedro Henríquez Ureña Street, and César Nicolás Penson Street. The event is expected to impact traffic around these areas, and drivers are advised to seek alternative routes.
