A TV crew has sparked outrage by filming inside the cemetery where Liam Payne’s body rested – hours after his repatriation.
Argentina’s Socios del espectáculo delivered a broadcast from the British Cemetery in Buenos Aires, where Liam Payne was resting before returning to the UK earlier today. The late 31-year tragically fell to his death falling from the balcony of his third floor hotel room. The star died after suffering multiple traumas leading to an “internal and external haemorrhage”.
Prior to returning to his home country, Liam’s body was held in Argentina for three weeks while medical officers carried out an autopsy before his body was embalmed and released for repatriation. A male presenter for Argentina TV’s Socios del espectáculo filmed scenes outside the cemetery where Liam’s body was kept before entering inside – which the Mirror has chosen not to show.
The broadcaster claimed that Liam’s body had been resting inside the chapel since last Friday and he had been granted “exclusive access” by authorities. The presenter then claimed that Liam’s body was still resting in the cemetery in ghoulish scenes.

Although the broadcaster is then heard telling viewers the funeral will be attended by dozens of names from the world of music and entertainment due to Liam’s global level of stardom as he enters the building.
However, when approached by the Mirror – the Cementerio Británico de Buenos Aires confirmed that the late singer’s body was not present when filming commenced. In an exclusive statement, they said: “The coffin was here 5 days, time needed to prepare everything for the travel to England. In the video you can see our chapel and the place where the coffin was. This video was recorded 6 hours after the coffin was transported to the airport.”
Liam’s fans have also been left enraged by the broadcast, with one writing: “How could they film inside the funerarium??!!!!” Damn they are real disrespectful,” fumed a second. Meanwhile a third went on to write: “Why is his coffin on the news???!! give the man some respect and let him rest in peace!”
It’s believed that Liam’s funeral will be held in the coming days, with the Payne family set to share an announcement with fans. Speaking to the Daily Mail, a source said: “Liam will have a very big send off, quite probably at a large cathedral somewhere close to his heart. Liam was so loved by so many people, there will obviously be enormous demand and so the service will necessarily be a huge affair. The details are still under wraps until they are definitively signed off but should be announced very soon.”
