KUCHING (Nov 8): A total of 96 graduates received their scrolls for Professional and Executive Programmes (PEP) from the Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) Business School (UBS) today.
The graduates ranged from Professional Programme (Level 3) to Professional Certificate and those completing their Executive Master’s covering a diverse range of fields.
Unimas vice chancellor Prof Dr Ahmad Hata Rasit, who officiated at UBS’ third convocation ceremony, said the school prepares graduates to meet the demands of the digital age.
“The graduates we honour today have gained more than just academic qualifications.
“They have embraced lifelong learning, digital proficiency, and a commitment to sustainable practices, all of which are crucial for thriving in today’s workforce,” he said.
Since its inception in 2020, UBS has rapidly expanded its offerings to cater to professionals seeking continuous learning and advancement.
Ahmad said UBS’ programmes are set to empower graduates to thrive in a rapidly changing industry landscape.
The UBS convocation also brought together several strategic partners who have played a crucial role in shaping and delivering the programme.
They included Majlis Islam Sarawak, Yahos Sdn Bhd, IMH Academy Sdn Bhd, Infoera Academy Sdn Bhd, Fine Arts Lifelong Management Sdn Bhd, Digital Marketing Consultancy Sdn Bhd, Videv Consulting Sdn Bhd, Qadim Hub, University Sustainability Centre, and Unimas’ Faculty of Engineering.
“Our strategic partners have offered invaluable support, resources, and industry insights that enhance the learning and professional readiness of the students graduating today,” Ahmad said.
He pointed out UBS was recognised as the Best Business School for PEP 2023 by the Ministry of Higher Education and Tvet Asia as well as Top Course Provider for National Training Week for two years running in 2023 and 2024 by the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRDC).
