Just after 5:30 pm on Thursday afternoon, a tourist was injured in a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) accident that occurred in the Meiveld area. The accident left the vehicle overturned after colliding with a light pole.
According to initial reports, the vehicle, driven by a female tourist, was either traveling to- or from Pavia.
Authorities confirmed that the injured individual was the sole occupant of the UTV, which was part of a group of similar vehicles. The group was reportedly traveling together, with other UTVs accompanying the one involved in the accident.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to tend to the woman. Luckily, no other individuals were reported to have been injured in the incident.
The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, and authorities are working to determine if weather or other factors may have contributed to the incident.
