EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) – A business with century-old roots in Eau Claire has sold. As of Thursday, Huebsch Services has sold to Cintas.
According to its website, Huebsch Services was founded in 1891 by John and Joseph Huebsch as a commercial laundry service. Today, they have more than 6,000 customers in western Wisconsin and beyond. Many of their customers are serviced by its production and distribution facility on White Avenue on Eau Claire’s north side.
Cintas is a nationwide company that already has a location in Eau Claire.
News 18 spoke with Huebsch’s general manager Friday, who provided the following statement:
“Cintas and Huebsch are pleased to announce a merger between two remarkably successful companies.
Our collective focus is on caring for customers and employees as the transition opens new opportunities for growth and innovation. “
The statement said all Huebsch employees will be offered jobs at their current pay.
It said Cintas bought the Huebsch facilities and plans to expand production and service capabilities. It is unclear when Huebsch will begin operating under a new name.
