Both domestic and foreign tourists come to Cox’s Bazar to spend their holidays, enjoying the blue waters and sandy beaches of the seaside. Liza and her husband Nurul Haque, who came from Dhaka, said they arrived on Thursday. Since it was hot in the morning, they visited the beach in the afternoon.
Russell, a tourist from Sirajdikhan, Narsingdi, said, I came to Cox’s Bazar after a long time by train, and it was a wonderful experience. The weather is getting cooler, and I am enjoying the place.
S.M. Kibria, former president of the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh, said that Cox’s Bazar is accessible not only by road and air but also by rail. Tourists are arriving in large numbers through all three modes of transportation.
Abdul Kaiyum Chowdhury, General Secretary of the Cox’s Bazar Hotel Owners Association, said that with the arrival of winter, the weekly holidays see a large number of tourists in Cox’s Bazar. After a long period of struggling business, things are now much better due to the influx of tourists. He is hopeful that business will improve further in the coming days.

They are our guests, and we make sure all hotels treat them well. Thanks to God’s blessings, our business is doing well during the weekly holidays.
In addition to Cox’s Bazar beach, tourists are visiting various other spots such as Inani, Himchari, Patuartek, Teknaf, Matarneer Kup, the Adinath Temple in Maheshkhali, the Buddhist temple in Maheshkhali, the Buddha Temple in Ramu, and Safari Park.
Cox’s Bazar Superintendent of Police, Mohammad Rahmat Ullah, said that they are closely monitoring the city to ensure the security of tourists arriving in Cox’s Bazar. The Tourist Police, along with the district police, are working to ensure the safety of tourists. The district police are also addressing traffic congestion and ensuring that tourists are not being harassed in any way.
Measures such as online bus terminals have already been implemented.
Abul Kalam Azad, Senior Assistant Police Superintendent, said that special surveillance is being carried out during the weekly holidays. Additional forces are being deployed for regular patrols, and security is maintained through CCTV cameras, especially at tourist spots.
Mohammad Salahuddin, the Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar, stated that they take the issues of tourists very seriously. During the weekly holidays, a team led by the Executive Magistrate of the Tourism Cell works round the clock to ensure tourists’ safety and prevent any form of harassment. There are complaint centers at various points on the beach where tourists can file complaints if they are harassed.
