Glasgow-based chatbot and messaging technology company Konversable has raised £300,000.
The funding round attracted money from a range of UK and global business angels, with support provided by commercial law firm Davidson Chalmers Stewart.
Konversable’s technology lets businesses and organisations have ‘smarter conversations’ with their customers online.
Clients so far come from the automotive, recruitment, dental, property, financial services and hospitality sectors, using it for lead generation and artificial intelligence-powered chat services, as well as WhatsApp Business solutions.
Konversable works directly with companies and alongside strategic partners to implement its offering on a white label basis.
The business has recently been expanding from the UK into Ireland, Singapore and Australia, forming partnerships with other tech providers and web agencies overseas.
The investment proceeds should help Konversable build this global customer base and accelerate its work with enterprise brands. Funds will also go towards product development to enhance user experience and to scale up the partnership programme.
Chief executive Wes Beard said: “We’re delighted with the success of this investment round and will channel these funds towards growing our global footprint and further improving our innovative range of online chat solutions within a rapidly moving AI landscape.”
Co-founder and director Stephen Upton added: “We are proud to work with UK and global organisations, both directly and through partnerships with other tech companies, to implement custom-built chat and messaging solutions which suit their specific requirements.
“The support of our investors will play a key role in helping us scale our business on a global level.”
