My Life in Books
Jane Casey was born in Dublin. A former editor, she has written 11 crime novels for adults and three for teenagers. In 2015 she won the Mary Higgins Clark Award for The Stranger You Know and Irish Crime Novel of the Year for After the Fire. The Killing Kind was recently adapted for Paramount+. The Outsider has just been published by Hemlock Press.
The books on your bedside table? I’m reading, very slowly, with great enjoyment, Sarah Rees Brennan’s Long Live Evil and Michael Viney’s A Year’s Turning. I’m also reading Emma Southon’s biography of Agrippina, the first empress of Rome. I have Cecelia Ahern’s Into the Storm lined up to read next, along with a rake of crime novels that are out next year. This is a pretty accurate insight into what goes on in my mind – chaos, but interesting chaos.
