With in-house custom designs, Superior Thread Collective is outfitting people with Duluth swag based on notable local places.
The store opened earlier this summer in a former office space next door to Frost River in the Lincoln Park Craft District.
“Everything that we carry is meant to be kind of an upscale travel memento for travelers, tourists, and locals alike,” Steph Anderson said.
Superior Thread Collective was her brainchild. She’s drawn some of the T-shirt and apparel designs herself.
“I think what we like is that it offers the customer a customized experience,” she said.
Much of their gear comes to life just down the street at On the Limit, a screenprinting shop. That’s where Colton Wojta works as a graphic designer.
“I love when designs are airy, it has a lot of texture,” he said.
He prints positives from his system and hands it off to people like Harrison Cross, who squeegee the ink across shirts and sweatshirts.
Superior Thread Collective is hosting a Gales of November Artisan Market from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday outside the store.
