Working with a spouse isn’t always easy — even when the job in question involves a reality show about the couple’s house flipping and design empire. Christina in the Country Season 2 is out now, filmed prior to Josh Hall and Christina Haack’s explosive divorce. It’s been a little jarring for fans to see Josh onscreen knowing they later parted ways.
If Christina has anything to say about it, this will likely be the last time Josh Hall plays a part in any of her shows. They already filmed a few scenes for The Flip Off together when news of their divorce broke. And according to the HGTV star, things behind the scenes were less than pleasant.
Christina Haack Admits Josh Hall Was Difficult To Work With
As HGTV fans tune into Christina in the Country, they’re eagerly awaiting the premiere of The Flip Off, expected to hit the network in the new year.
And according to Christina Haack, she’s incredibly thankful Josh Hall is no longer involved in the series.
“We only filmed together a few times and it was not fun, to be honest. I did not enjoy filming with him. Having split up made this, to be honest, so much easier and so much better in every way,” Christina shared with Entertainment Tonight.
In the interview, she admits that things were “bad” between her and Josh for at least a year. The HGTV star believes Josh’s insecurities largely contributed to their split.
“When someone is insecure by you and doesn’t like to watch you win, that really puts a damper on everything,” Christina shared. “I feel like I was not shining as bright to try to not make him feel emasculated.”

Jealousy Allegedly Played A Role In Josh’s Exit Too
Although Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack are divorced, they continued starring on Flip or Flop together. They went on to develop a great co-parenting relationship together, even though they went on to marry other people and welcome more children with their new partners.
Sadly, it seems like this healthy dynamic severely bothered Josh Hall.
Christina alleged her ex-husband struggled being around Tarek and Heather El Moussa during filming. He felt jealous of Tarek and didn’t like the way he and Christina bantered with each other.
“It’s just better now,” she said about Josh Hall’s exit from The Flip Off. “The show would have been hard to film. The whole thing just would have been not as fun.”
