GLASGOW was transformed into a dystopian New York today as a Hollywood heartthrob hit the streets for a new movie.
Glen Powell, 36, was in town as filming of his latest flick — a reboot of classic Arnold Schwarzenegger film The Running Man — continued.
Based on a novel by Stephen King, the plot sees Ben Richards being forced to take part in a deadly TV show where prisoners must run to freedom to avoid a certain death.
Top Gun: Maverick star Glen takes the lead alongside Mission: Impossible 8 star Katy O’Brian, 35.
The blonde hunk was spotted in the city centre sipping a coffee as he braved the Scottish weather.
An army of supporting actors clad in striking colours and vibrant tie-dye descended on the eerie totalitarian-themed production.

An onlooker said: “The extras in their hippy-esque costumes certainly turned heads and not what I was expecting to see today.”
“And Glen was all smiles and really brightened up the gloomy, industrial-style set.
“He showed a crowd of adoring fans that he’s still Top Gun as he prepared to film his scenes.”
Glen joined stern-looking actors dressed as cops – armed with guns and equipped with riot gear and hard hats.
The US performer dressed for the season in an autumnal-coloured coat with matching hoodie.
Elsewhere a rundown and rusty car joined an armoured truck on the set which was covered in smoke to create a murky atmosphere.
A green screen was visible to help with special effects and is placed next to Glen’s trailer which boasts his character’s name on the door.
Dozens of crew members wearing ear cans and clutching call sheets worked frantically to ensure the production ran smoothly.
Several streets will be restricted as filming starts. Glen said of the film earlier this year: “I’m so fired up about it.”
He previously starred in Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over and 2024 disaster flick Twisters.
The actor dated model Gigi Paris in 2019 before their breakup became public four years later.
In 2024, Glen relocated from Los Angeles back to his hometown of Austin, Texas.
The Running Man is the latest big-budget film to use Glasgow as a backdrop.

In 2020 Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny saw St Vincent Street turned into Manhattan streets, while the Batman saw the city double up for the grimy world of Gotham the same year.
An onlooker added: “The movie is a great way to put Glasgow on the map and show the world our amazing architecture and sights.”
