First villain of Indian movies, was ready to sacrifice his life for the country, any film he would be a part of would turn into…, his name was…

In movies, villains play a key role in making the story more thrilling and entertaining. A hero’s heroism wouldn’t come more into the spotlight without a strong villain. Hence, there are many movies that are remembered for the iconic villains they gave us and the actors who played those characters. There was one such actor who started the trend of having villains in movies and had quite an intriguing personality.
All About India’s First Villain in Movies
The actor was the first villain in Hindi cinema. He has played villainous roles in silent, black-and-white, and colour movies. The actor was born in Lahore and since childhood, acting has been his passion. He even used to participate in Ramleela with his family and his acting and looks often caught people’s attention. As per several entertainment news reports, his favourite character in Ramleela is Raavan.
The actor we are talking about is Hiralal Thakur. He made his debut in the year 1928 with the movie Daughters of Today, directed by Shankardev Arya. Hiralal is also the reason Pakistani cinema started. It is after this movie that the actor became the first choice to play many villainous roles in movies. When the India-Pakistan division happened, Thakur settled in Kolkata and married Darpan Rani in 1945.
As the film industry wasn’t developed in Lahore back then, Hiralal Thakur started working in Hindi movies. He was also a part of the film Badal, where it all started and worked with Madhubala. The moment he entered Bollywood, he kept getting more and more negative roles. Some of the movies include Amar Prem, Aurat, Gumnaam, and others, and I spent 50 years playing such characters. In his career, Hiralal has been a part of 150 movies. It was said that any movie the actor would touch would become a superhit.
What’s interesting is Hiralal Thakur was also a part of India’s independence movement. He was a freedom fighter and worked alongside Bhagat Singh. In the year 1981, Thakur passed away.

People involved in the project celebrated its opening during a ribbon cutting and open house earlier this month. The Residences at Toler is the first residential development by Anup Patel and his family. The family has operated numerous hotels here since they moved to Longview in 1994. Their Loop 281 Lodging Group owns six hotels in Longview and Kilgore. A seventh hotel, a Marriott TownePlace Suites, is under construction across from Longview High School.”There’s nothing on this side of town that provides a luxury atmosphere,” said Michael South, managing partner of property management firm Cintra Realty Group. He addressed people gathered for the open house. He said four of the 12 buildings have been completed in the total 144-unit complex. The fifth building will open Dec. 7. Buildings are being completed every couple of weeks with the entire complex expected to be finished by spring. The four completed buildings are at 88% occupancy, Smith said.”We’re doing really well,” he said. “For the location we’re in there’s no other luxury units around here. Everyone’s been focusing on one side of Longview. It’s nice to put a different focus out there.”One-, two-and three-bedroom units are available. They come equipped with washers, dryers and garbage disposals. The complex also offers a resort-style pool, gym, coffee bar, cornhole, two dog parks and other amenities.Located at 2006 Toler Road, off Gilmer Road, it’s across the street from Starbucks and El Sombrero restaurant, next door to HTeaO and near other restaurants and shopping.Pickleball courts gain approvalLongview’s Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council have cleared the way for Mike Bailey, owner of Anytime Fitness on Gilmer Road, to build two pickleball courts at the gym.The approval of the specific use permit needed to build the outdoor courts came after Bailey and city staff met with residents in that area to address their concerns about the project. They came to an agreement for the business to maintain the existing 8-foot fence between the business and the residential area, for the lighting to be downshielded to protect the neighborhood behind the gym and for the drainage to be directed away from the adjacent homes as well. The pickleball courts will be east of Anytime Fitness, with use restricted to gym members and people invited by Bailey.
