Holidaymakers visiting Greece`are likely to witness freezing weather conditions as many cities in the European country have been blanketed with snow.
The cold weather comes as storm Alexandros swept across the country with many cities covered in snow.
Snowfall has blanketed Florina, Kozani, and the surrounding areas, transforming the landscape.
The low-pressure system heading toward Cyprus has left striking scenes in its path.
The weather system brought widespread snowfall to several regions in northern Greece, as reported by forecastweather.gr.
By early Friday evening, areas such as Pisoderi and Nymfaio in Florina, Vasilitsa and Samarina in Grevena, and Pentalofos in Kozani were already blanketed in snow, creating a distinctly wintry atmosphere.
Even lower-altitude areas experienced snowfall, signaling the breadth of the system’s impact.
Camera footage from the region captured heavy snow in the mountain areas, with the deepest recorded accumulation reaching 10 centimeters in the mountainous village of Vlasti.
To manage the challenging conditions, snow plows operated continuously, with municipal teams from Kozani and Eordaia, alongside the Western Macedonia Region authorities, working to keep roads clear and accessible.
In addition to these areas, dramatic snowy scenes were observed in Larissa’s mountainous regions, such as Prophet Elias in Livadi Elassona, where the entire landscape was transformed into a winter wonderland.
