On Saturday morning the City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Service responded to a fire at a business premises in Montague Gardens. Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse says the fire has been contained.
“The City’s Fire and Rescue Service received a call of a fire in Montague Gardens in the early hours of this morning, at 03:20. Various crews responded, with a total of 11 fire engines, six water tankers and an aerial appliance. No injuries have been reported.”
Meanwhile, authorities say the fire above Constantia Nek in Cape Town has been contained. On Saturday night Table Mountain National Park Fire Management Department deployed several crews and the use of appliances in fire fighting efforts.
SANParks spokesperson, JP Louw says the fire has been contained and mountain is safe for hikers to use.
